Ford Focus



Ford, the US auto major, already launched its small car Ford Figo in India and aiming to launch more compact vehicles in the country. Now the company is planning to launch Ford Focus in India. However, the news is not new for Indian car lovers. From 2003, expectations are in air and a couple of Ford officials had also confirmed the news. Again the insiders are indicating the launch of Ford Focus in India. The Ford Focus was unveiled in Europe in July 1998 followed by worldwide launch in Feb 2000. After this year, Ford re-launched the car with more upgradation in different countries. In fact, Ford Focus is the best selling car of the US based auto firm. Once upon a time, it was the best selling family car in the UK. In International market Ford Focus is available in sedan, hatchback, 2-door cabriolet and coupe body type. But for India, it would be a sedan body type Ford Focus.

Chevrolet Orlando




General Motors has introduced Chevrolet Orlando, concept MPV, at the Paris Motor Show, 2008; the production version of the MPV was showcased at the 2010 Paris Auto Show, reports say that it will commence sales in early 2011 while the Indian debut would be possible followed by European launch. The concept version was a seven seater affair and possessed crossover like built. The Orlando shares the same platform of Chevrolet Cruze.

If media reports are to be believed, the Chevrolet Orlando is supposed to replace Chevrolet Tavera. After discontinuing the Tavera in most of the BS III cities, there remains a void from Chevrolet side. The much-expected Chevrolet Orlando will be competing with the likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and other India bound mini MPV like Maruti R3, Nissan NV200, Hyundai ic25 and Ford B-Max. This yet-to-be launched Chevrolet MPV would be loaded with a 1.8 litre petrol mill and a 2.0 litre diesel powertrain. The 1.8 litre petrol engine is expected to produce a top power of 141 bhp while the 2.0 litre diesel engine would churn out maximum power of 131 bhp via either a 4 speed automatic, 5 speed or 6 speed automatic gearboxes.
The Chevrolet Orlando is expected to be tagged around Rs 10 lakh in India.

Mahindra Renault Sandero




Auto major Renault planning to launch its new hatchback Renault Sandero in India by 2010,  as a joint venture with Mahindra under the name Mahindra Renault. Mahindra Renault Sandero will be available in both petrol as well as diesel engine option. The petrol engine is likely to about 1200cc capacity and diesel engine is around 1500cc capacity. Mahindra Renault will use their Nashik based manufacturing plant to assemble the vehicles.

Fiat Bravo

In the list of samll cars, Fiat Bravo is manufactured in the brand name of Italian Auto maker. The name for the Italian car was revised after the name was given to it 'Stilo'. Bravo as a car is available in three door hatchback category and the Brava car an another variant is available in five door hatchback category. Presently available in two engien options one being the petrol and being the diesel version the car is a very powerful one with effective capacity to be offered to its customers.

Skoda Rapid




Skoda Auto India is all set to launch its latest invent “Skoda Rapid” soon this year. This latest entry in the fleet of Skoda India is most likely to be based on Volkswagen Vento and Fiat Linea sedan. If speculations are to be believed, Skoda Rapid is going to incorporate same engine specifications as added in VW Vento i.e. 1.6L petrol/diesel added with dual transmission modes (Auto/Manual).

The Skoda Rapid price might come close to Maruti SX4 and much below Volkswagen Vento, there is going to be hard competition within the Sedan segment cars. After the launch of Skoda Yeti- the SUV segment car, “Skoda Rapid” is next in-line. And as per rumors, Skoda India is going to install some high-end tech specs in Skoda Rapid making it a milestone in Sedan car segment. So sit tight for a whole new riding experience with “Skoda Rapid”.

Skoda Auto started its operations in India as Skoda Auto India Pvt. Ltd in November 2001. In India, the company is currently selling following car models - Skoda Laura, Skoda Fabia (manufactured in India) and Skoda Superb, Skoda Yeti (Imported) with Skoda Octavia model discontinued in 2010.

With Skoda Auto India having presence in most of the car segments, the company is going to make one more addition in Sedan car segment by launching the all new smoking hot “Skoda Rapid”. With company keeping tight lips regarding the Skoda Rapid specs and equipments, one thing is quite sure that it is going to offer good competition to other cars present in this segment. As per reports, Skoda Rapid will come with low price tag which and this will act as the main USP of this car. Fiat Grande Punto Evo



Fiat India Automobiles Limited (FIAL) has launched its latest variant of its most popular small car model Fiat Punto called, "Fiat Punto 90 HP". The 1.3L, Multijet diesel engine of Fiat Punto 90 HP delivers 93 PS of maximum power with 209Nm of maximum torque that makes it the most powereful diesel hatchback in India. The car offers excellent drive dynamics – Ride, Handling, Braking and also superior fuel efficiency of 20km / l.

15 March 2010 - Fiat India Automobiles Limited (FIAL) has shooted two new variants of its most acknowledged ex-launched Fiat Punto called “1.2 Dynamic” and "1.2 Emotion" on March 15, 2010. These new variants will be powered by the 1.2L, FIRE petrol engine and will carry the same features like "1.4 Dynamic" and "1.4 Emotion". With the launch of these two variants, Fiat has phased out one its variant - "1.4 Emotion" due to its faded sales.

5 January 2010 -  Fiat Punto Evo touts itself to be the next level car in terms of design that promises to fulfill the most difficult of customer's demands. Fiat Punto Evo's main focus would be on the environmental implications, the technology and comfort while driving. Fiat Punto Evo technical prowess exhibits through its Euro 5 engines and the vast selection in the same. The new wheel from Fiat Puntocomes with a 1.4 petrol engine and 1.3 second generation Multijet diesel engine. A new technology called as the MultiAir technology has been incorporated in its engine and will be seen in all the Fiat engines. Another feature to look forward to in Fiat Punto Evo is its Blue&Me - TomTom which is a portable sattelite navigation unit that enables the driver use telephone, information and navigation functionalities through a color touchscreen.

Volkswagen Tiguan

Auto major Volkswagen plans to launch its compact and also luxurious SUV Volkswagen Tiguan in India. Volkswagen Tiguan is based on Audi A5 platform and much luxurious in its segment. Volkswagen Tiguan is the new entry into the ever growing small SUV segment for Volkswagen. Volkswagen Tiguan was first showcased at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, and was debuted as a 2008 model for Europe. Volkswagen India plans to launch Volkswagen Tiguan in by the mid of this year and to compete with other SUVs of this segment like of Honda CR-V, Ford Endeavour & the most awaiting Hyundai Santa Fe. The Volkswagen Tiguan price is not yet disclosed by the company but it is expected it will be priced around 20lacs.

Toyota Avanza



Riding on the success of Toyota Innova and Toyoa Fortuner, Toyota Kirloskar Motors is planning to launch its new product in Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) segment in India. The new IMV from Toyota is Toyota Avanza which is being sold in Thailand at present and doing very well. The Toyota Avanza is to be positioned below the Toyota Innova and likely to be mini Innova. It is also speculated that it will be cheaper by up to 25 per cent than Toyota Innova hence pitted against the likes of Chevrolet Tavera and Mahindra Xylo. The news of launching Toyota Avanza in India has also been confirmed by a senior official of the Japanese auto major. The officials confirmed by saying that they would bring a second people mover followed by Toyota Innova in India but not an SUV.

Maruti Cervo



India’s largest auto manufacturer, Maruti is planning to launch another small car model Maruti Cervo in entry level segment in the Indian auto market. Maruti is working aggressively to launch Maruti Cervo in Indian market as a counter attack to Tata Nano which has stormed the auto market with its ultra low cost. Maruti is a market leader for small car market but the launch of Tata Nano has affected heavily the sales of Maruti 800. It is expected that the Maruti Cervo will be priced in the range of Rs 1.5 to 2 lacs. To reduce its manufacturing cost Maruti Suzuki may reduce some features from the original model which is available in Japan. It is also expected that after the launch Maruti Cervo will overtake the company’s most popular models Maruti 800 and Maruti Alto.
It is expected that the Maruti Cervo price will fall in the range of Rs 1.5 lacs to Rs 2 lacs.


Honda Brio





Honda India is all geared to unfold its eagerly awaited small car Honda Brio and envisages to capture the small car segment with its hot quotient. Come October and this mini wagon will be available for the Indian customers. Honda India earlier failed to woo the small car lovers in India with Honda Jazz, however this time its small car Honda Brio has already created a hysteria long before its launch. The Japanese auto biggie is expected to price this small car competitively and it is said thatHonda Brio price will be somewhere between Rs4 to 5 lakh. The new small car from Honda India will come affixed with 1.2 litre 1-VTEC engine. Honda Brio will also adorn features like ABS ,airbags and will offer high fuel efficiency.

Renault Koleos

The French Auto major Renault recently embarked its second innings in the interminably growing Indian auto market with the launch of its sedan car Renault Fluence in the month of May. Renault plans to roll out four new cars under its badge in coming years, one of these is a crossover christenedRenault Koleos which is expected to roar on the Indian roads this festive season in the month of October. Renault Koleos will be available in both manual and automatic transmission options, this stunning crossover will come affixed with petrol engine as well as diesel engine. As far as Renault Koleos price is concerned the company has not given any hint about it, but it is expected that the Renault Koleos price will fall under the range of Rs14 to 18 lakhs.

Mahindra Xylo Mini

Recent reports states that Indian automobile giant Mahindra Auto will release Mahindra Xylo Mini in July 2011. This new compact version of Mahindra's popular SUV is expected to bear all the specifications of its parent version “Mahindra Xylo SUV” which was launched earlier to compete with Toyota Innova. As per speculations, Mahindra mini Xylo price is expected to touch the mark of Rs. 5 lakhs.

Mahindra Auto is going to make another entry in 4-meter cars segment with its grand hatchback MUVMahindra Xylo Mini. The car is expected to be crafted with same robust and an aggressive looks that are brand image of Mahindra Xylo standard. However, Mahindra Auto’s compact car “Mahindra Xylo Mini” will shed some of the high-end features to make the Mahindra Xylo Mini price adjustable to Rs. 5 lakh in comparison with its standard Mahindra Xylo price which is Rs. 7 lakh plus

Chevrolet Beat Diesel

General Motors India today showcased Chevrolet Beat Electric car in a demo program held in New Delhi. Chevrolet has selected Indian market to test its battery electric technology. The feedback and results will help identify ways to make the Battery Electric technology more affordable for global customers. The car is on display in New Delhi. Since the car is in the test phase, the Chevrolet Beat Electric launch will take some time. Likewise, Chevrolet Beat Electric price in India will be declared once the test phase is over and the car is launched. It is anticipated that Beat Electric price in India will be between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 7 Lakh. Notably, 2011 marks the centenary year of completion of Chevrolet operations globally. With Beat EV India is soon to have an electric car. The electric car market in India is still governed by Mahindra Reva.

Ford Fiesta Titanium 1.5 TDCi


 Ford India after carving a niche for itself in the thriving Indian car fraternity is all set to take the Indian auto industry by storm and has also announced to launch 7 new cars in coming 3.5 years. After the super success of small car Ford Figo, Ford India is all set to roll out the steaming hot sedan car Ford Fiesta in a new avatar. The new Ford Fiesta is embedded with amazing features and will be available in petrol engine and diesel engine. Ford Fiesta diesel will be powered with a TDCi engine capable to churn out 90bhp, 204 Nm torque and is likely to offer a decent mileage of 23.5 Kmpl according to ARAI. On the other hand the Ford Fiesta petrol variant is equipped with a Ti-VCT which is capable of producing 108bhp and a peak torque of 104 Nm. The petrol version is expected to offer a mileage of 17 kmpl. The all new Ford Fiesta price is something which the company needs to think upon as it will gun straight against the other cars in sedan car segment. However the Ford Fiesta price is expected to fall under the range of Rs7 lakh to Rs9 lakh.
